Operational benchmarking can provide the user with much information and answers to questions regarding the operation, such as:
- How profitable was the operation during the period compared to its forecast or budget?
- Were total revenues for the period maximized or were there missed opportunities?
- Did the hotel perform better than competitors in the same market?
- How profitable was the hotel compared to its Comp Set?
Once operational benchmarking is understood and practiced on a consistent basis, you will have a better understanding of the overall performance of the business.
